This is one of the top 5 hole in the wall joints in my book. I have absolutely loved this place from the early 2000's. Food has been consistent, prices have always been affordable and their service has always been right on time, I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes when a phone order was place. Even when I am a walk in the food is ready in 10 minutes. This is a place I crave.

Mark's Drive Inn has been around for decades and I used to frequent there years ago but I started to liking the food at Stadium Giant Malts and BBQ. I remember Mark's putting big portions into their take out containers so it was always a good bargain. I was having a hard time deciding where I would go to get take out for lunch. Mark's popped in my mind, so I drove down there and ordered a mini hamburger steak. The lunchroom was full at lunchtime, most conversing with the lady who worked there so it seemed there are a lot of regulars. I took my lunch home and was pleasantly surprised that my hamburger steak was really delicious. The patties seemed like handmade small and thin hamburger. The star was the gravy, darker than you are used to but really tasty. The prices here are like $8 minis and about $13 or less for full plates, so really reasonable. I will be returning again to try most of the menu.

On Tuesday, 11/26/24, at 11:30a I stopped by at Mark's Drive Inn to pick up lunch. I ordered the Beef with Bittermelon plate lunch. It came with 2 scoops of rice and a Mac salad. The Bittermelon was cooked perfectly with a crisp vegetable crunch and covered with a savory black bean sauce. The delectable beef married well with the stir fried combination. Although this place is small, there are some seats if you need to eat inside. Overall, this is a great place to pick up something quick to eat. I will be back again and get something else at Mark's Drive Inn.

First time here based on a friend's recommendation. Tried to call in, twice, to place a take out order but they did not pick up their phone. So next best thing was to check out the photos and reviews here on yelp (can always trust foodies), and saw some really appetizing entrees. One in particular was the minute chicken cake noodle. One photo had a big container of gravy/ sauce to pour onto the cake noodle. I ended up ordering this in store because they wouldn't pick up their phone. At the register, the female (probably the owner/ owner's wife) took my order and then informed me that the cake noodle was gonna cost extra. Still ordered it, and the total was 18$ and some change. By the way, cake noodle is $3.75 per the worker in case you're wondering, and the photo I mentioned earlier with the big container of gray/ sauce is not part of it because it's already on the cake noodle. All in all, the cake noodle was on point. Chicken could've been less salty. I could already feel my hands stiffening up. Just kidding. Maybe in the morning when I wake up. It got pretty busy during the short time I was waiting for my food. Maybe next time I'll order the shrimp with lobster sauce. Mmm... Check em out!

Lunch from Salt Lake, Honolulu, Hawaii... I've been here before because Bruddah Fran said that his friend's Garlic fried Chicken smelled good and was boneless... haha... even though Bruddah Fran had the oyster sauce chicken. And - gosh, darn - Joyce L. recommended the Chinese chicken cake noodles. I'll just have to go back again! Located at Stadium Mall - where Ice Palace is... but the smaller building - on the end - Mark's Drive Inn is an old school, comfort food type of place. Inside is cozy if you want to dine-in. Most people were doing takeout. After I parked for free in the shared lot, I went in and looked at the picture menu and the Specials board. I didn't see the Garlic Fried Chicken, so the nice lady pointed it out to me. I told her that my friend said that the Garlic Fried Chicken was really good. I almost got the Beef Tomato, but she said many people get the Garlic Fried Chicken. Okay, I'll try it! That's what I ordered. It sounded like the nice lady was arguing with the kitchen staff, but that's how Chinese language is. It's loud and "straight to the point". I didn't understand a word, but I knew they weren't fighting. LOL! When I got my order, I told her, "See you again!" She just laughed. At home, I happily chomped on the tasty, crunchy chicken skin! The outer layer of meat was cooked well, and the inner meat was moist and tender. I didn't eat much of the rice, but I did try the macaroni salad - it was on the watery side. The mayonnaise was kind of diluted. I'll be back to try other dishes (my mom would like bittermelon beef) and ask for that cake noodle that's not on the menu... Note: I did pay cash. I'm not sure if they accept credit cards.
